Sustainability and the Environment

As Australian manufacturer and retailer, we believe that it is our collective responsibility to look after our environment together. Our core value "Do more with Less" means that recycling and repurposing is at the very heart of our operations.

Below is an overview of many of the initiatives we undertake.

87% less plastic in our product packaging

We have a variety of brands that we manufacture, including Amino Z Supplements and Bandito Labs. In an effort to reduce the usage of plastics, we have opted to use recyclable pouches in most of our products instead of larger plastic jars. This results in up to an astounding 87% less plastic being used.

We have received feedback from some of our customers that prefer the convenience of a jar. As a result of this, we offer these jars for sale separately, instead of replacing our packaging.

Due to the significantly reduced amount of plastic usage, a limited selection of smaller sized products are available in jars. These are fully recyclable.

Here's how we determined 87% less plastic usage: Our most common pouch size weighs 31g (and holds 1kg of powder). Meanwhile a typical jar weighs 220g (and holds 909g of powder). On a gram for gram basis, this results in a reduction of 87% less plastic for the same volume of powder.

Recyclable plastics in our products

We include scoops in most of the Amino Z and Bandito Labs products that we manufacture. They are made from food-safe polypropylene, which is a fully recyclable class 5 plastic.

Our Amino Z Ultra Shakers are also made from fully recyclable plastic.

Boxes

We ship thousands of orders every week and the vast majority of these ship using unbleached Australian made brown cardboard boxes, made from 100% recycled materials. Besides being strong and reusable, these boxes are fully recyclable.

Packing Materials

Most orders are packed with unbleached Australian made butchers paper. This paper is fully recyclable.

Our suppliers often use packing materials in the orders that are shipped to us. Instead of discarding these materials, we re-use them in an effort to reduce wastage. If your order is packed with anything other than butchers paper (such as packing peanuts), these are re-used packing materials.

Energy Efficient Lighting

We have upgraded the lights in our warehouse to use energy efficient LED lighting, reducing our energy footprint from lighting by over 75%.

We Re-use and Recycle…A Lot!

With the volume of deliveries we receive, we inevitably accumulate a lot of additional materials, such as shipping boxes. Wherever possible, we will reuse boxes to prevent waste. The remainder of materials received are always recycled whenever possible.
