METHOD
- Preheat the oven to 3000F(1480C). In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar with an electric mixer at medium speed until light and fluffy. Stir in the vanilla, flour, nutmeg, salt and walnuts.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch calls. Place the balls about 1 inch apart on a lightly greased baking sheet, pressing each ball with the heel of your hand to a thickness of about 1/2 inch.
- Bake, uncovered, for 20 minutes or until the bottoms are golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.
