SUMMARY

 

Vegan friendly meat-free patties. Mushroom is a great alternative to meat it has no fats, no cholesterol, very low carbohydrates, high proteins, vitamins and minerals, a lot of water and fibre. They are also rich in calcium (for strong bones), iron (prevents anemia), potassium (very good for lowering blood pressure), copper (anti-bacterial) and selenium (an antioxidant mineral) for over-all optimum health!

INGREDIENTS

  Button Mushroom, chopped
0.38 cup (36 g)
  Rolled Oats
0.25 cup (63 g)
  Water
0.50 onion (45 g)
  Onion, chopped
0.50 clove (2 g)
  Garlic, minced
25 g
  Carrot, chopped
0.75 stalk (30 g)
  Celery, chopped
0.06 cup (2 g)
  Mixed Herbs, fresh
8 g
  Soy Sauce
0.25 teaspoon (0 g)
  Black Pepper
 

METHOD

1. Bring water to a boil in a large saucepan.

2. Add mushrooms, carrot, celery, garlic and onion and cook until soft.

3. Add the soy sauce, mixed herbs and rolled oats. Stir and cook for about 5-6 minutes. Until the mixture becomes thick. Remove from heat.

4. Cover and allow to cool for about 20-30 minutes.

5. Shape into patties.

6. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes, turning half way through.

7. Serve as desired.
