Adobo is a cooking process wherein vinegar, soy sauce, spices and lots of garlic are added to the meat while stewing, it is also one way of preserving the meat. This dish is very common and popular to Filipinos, the most famous and basic of all is this Chicken Adobo, a favorite picnic item. You can substitute pork for the chicken or you can mix the two, or add some quartered potatoes if you like (for extender). Try this simple and healthy chicken recipe on your next meal, it only has 114 kcalories per serve!

  Chicken Breast, lean

  White Vinegar
10 g
  Soy Sauce

  Garlic, crushed

  Black Peppercorns, whole

  Bay Leaves

1. Heat oil in a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high. Add chicken and cook till golden on all sides about 7-10 minutes (it doesn't need to be fully cooked, just brown them).

2. Add garlic, vinegar, soy sauce, water, bay leaves, peppercorns, and brown sugar. Cover and cook over medium-low heat about 20 minutes.

3. Remove cover and bay leaves. Add sweetener and cook for another 10 minutes or until chicken is tender and liquid is thickened.

4. Serve in a platter or with steamed rice.
