This is a basic recipe for low-fat Baked Meatballs. It has high amount of protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals. In addition, baked meatballs contain less oil and fat compared to the fried ones. Try this meatballs with marinara or sweet and sour sauce, it's perfect!

INGREDIENTS

  Ground Beef, lean
0.25 egg (11 g)
  Egg
25 g
  Skim Milk
3 g
  Fresh Basil Leaves, chopped
3 g
  Fresh Parsley Leaves, chopped
25 g
  Carrots, chopped
8 g
  Onion, chopped
0.75 clove (2 g)
  Garlic, chopped
0.25 cup (24 g)
  Rolled Oats
1 g
  Sea Salt
1 g
  Pepper
 

METHOD

1. In a mixing bowl, combine egg, milk; stir in rolled oats, garlic, onions and carrots.

2. Add meat, basil and parsley; Season with salt and pepper; Mix well.

3. Chill for 15 minutes.

4. Shape meat into (1 inch) balls.

5. Place in 2 baking pans.

6. Bake at 380 F (190 C) for 25 to 30 minutes.

7. Transfer to a platter, garnish with fresh parsley leaves and sliced carrots.

8. Serve.

 

Note: (For best results, you can also serve this dish with marinara or sweet and sour sauce)
