A classic Italian recipe made of fresh basil leaves, pine nuts, garlic, olive oil and parmesan cheese. It is rich in essential amino acids, antioxidants and contains pinolenic acid which may help reduce cholesterol levels. A versatile and great tasting sauce you can serve over pasta or bread!

INGREDIENTS

50 g
  Fresh Basil Leaves
0.50 tablespoon (7 g)
  Pine Nuts
2.00 clove (6 g)
  Garlic, chopped
1.00 Tbsp (15 g)
  Less-Fat Parmesan Cheese, grated
30 g
  Olive Oil
 

METHOD

1. Place the roasted pine nuts, basil, garlic and parmesan in a food processor and process until finely chopped.

2. In motor still running, drizzle oil in a thin steady stream until well combined.

3. Transfer in a bowl or air tight containers.

4. You may store it in the refrigerator or freezer for longer shelf life.
