This Basic Hummus Recipe is a popular Middle Eastern dip or spread. It is served as a snack or appetizer with toasted pita bread, or vegetable sticks. Tahini is one of the main ingredients of this recipe aside from garbanzo, garlic, lemon juice and olive oil. Quick and easy, just combine everything in a food processor or blender and you'll have a garlicky, protein and fibre-rich dip in less than 5 minutes!
1. Combine garbanzo, garlic, tahini, olive oil, water and lemon juice in a food processor. Process until smooth. Season with salt to taste.
2. Spoon into serving dish and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
3. Serve with vegetables sticks such as carrots or celery, or with pita bread.
