Is this product gluten-free?
Yes, it is gluten-free. It contains carbohydrate sources from rice, sweet potato and a variety of starches - all of which are gluten-free.
Why is this mass gainer more expensive than some other mass gainers available?
Many other weight gainer products contain a 'protein blend'. Protein blends are often made with cheaper protein sources, such as whey protein concentrate, milk protein isolate and skim milk powder. We pride ourselves on making whey protein isolate the primary protein source within the product. Whey protein isolate is considered a higher quality protein powder when compared to other types, such as whey protein concentrate or milk protein isolate. Additionally, whey protein isolate allows for better digestibility when compared to other proteins that are included in protein blends.
It is somewhat of an industry-standard is to use cheap and simple (high GI) carbohydrates such as dextrose as the carbohydrate source. We use a mixture of quality carbohydrate sources such as sweet potato powder, rice powder and maltodextrin.
