Losing Weight Over Christmas
Losing Weight Over Christmas
It's the holiday season and you know what that means - party time! Whilst you deserve a break from working hard all year long, your body doesn't take time off from counting excess calories. So, all that additional junk food and alcohol will add up.
Losing weight over Christmas is not an impossible task - it is actually quite manageable.
Over the holiday break, it is important not to stop the healthy habits that you have established over the past months. Alternatively if you haven't yet started moving toward your weight loss goals, proverbially speaking, yesterday was the best day to start. So it would be silly to disregard your goals altogether just because it's the holidays and wait another month to get started!
You should avoid shifting the balance between your goals and your lifestyle into any extreme position. For example, dropping a healthy approach to nutrition altogether to party every other day is going to undo a lot of the hard work you have invested to date. Alternatively, adhering to an overly strict training and nutritional approach could also be counter-productive because we all need the opportunity to put up our feet and relax every once in a while!
The key is to manage your weight loss goals with your social activities. It can quite easily be done if you undertake an intelligent approach. Here are some methods that you could implement:
- Keep your training and nutrition consistent throughout the week. Use a Christmas party as a "cheat" meal for the week just to release yourself psychologically from the restraints of routine.
- Splurge a little at a social event, but make up for this by implementing some additional exercise. For example, you could perform a cardio workout to counteract the additional calorie intake. You could also purposefully perform additional incidental exercise to expend additional calories.
- Enjoy the variety of foods and some alcohol at a party if you so choose to. In doing so, moderate your intake. Ensure that you limit your alcoholic intake to a few drinks and control the portion sizes of the foods you eat.
- Continue to monitor your weight loss progress over the holiday period. This will not only maintain a degree of accountability, it will also aid in your awareness of your progress. Being aware of exactly where you stand with regards to your goals is enough to influence your daily conscious decisions in a positive manner.
Good luck in continuing your goals of losing weight over Christmas!

Christmas Holiday Break
At Amino Z, we are taking a short break between Christmas and the New Year. We do understand that your personal training and supplement requirements do not stop during this period, so we are limiting our break to just one week.
For our supplement store, we will cease shipping orders from Christmas Day until January 4th (the first Monday in the new year). We will still accept online orders during this time, however please be aware that there will be no customer support available as we will be un staffed.
For our personal training, we will only be taking the week of Monday December 28th off. We will continue to provide support up until Christmas Eve and then resume our usual operations from January 4th. We do encourage you to continue posting your results so we can entertain everything upon our resumption in the new year.
Please note that all enquiries will not be handled from Christmas Day, until January 4th. Please leave us a message on our telephone system or email us and we will respond to you as quickly as possible.
Thank you and we wish you all the best for a safe and enjoyable holiday break!
