Generally speaking, it is recommended to consumed 2 to 3 L per day of water for the average person. 6-7 litres may not so much be a health concern, but it is more excessive than what is necessary. This is particularly true if you aren't exercising.

Water intoxification will only really occur once you begin to start consuming over 10 L per day. This can result in a number of medical publications and possibly even death if you do drink enough water. This occurs when electrolytes become so diluted within your body that the chemical reactions within your body are unable to function correctly.
